Maybe a setting I have missed but after I export and compile using Cmake then VS / Xcode, inside the DAW you can drag the window. When the mouse gets to the edge the typical vertical, horizontal and diagonal arrows come up. This drags black as my 'VST GUI' does not change..... just the container window.... producing a large black rectangle behind it.
Hey mate, I think that is normal behavior enabled by the DAW.
Any VST seems to do the same thing here in Reaper.
If you're wanting to resize your GUI, then Will has written an inbuilt function + good documentation on creating a menu option for this control.
Thank you for the response; I did think it was to do with that functionality which is why I thought I may have missed a setting. I tested this across my 3 DAWs and it is the case it does it in all 3 but my other plugins do not do this. In other plugins, not ones exported from ASPiK, you are unable to hover your mouse along the border of the plugin until the arrows come up then drag the window out and in.
I am not sure if this is SDK dependant or VSTGUI related but I presume is a setting when it comes to drawing the outer most window. I am going to try this later on my mac to see if its OS dependant or not.
It would be great to turn this off seeing as my GUI doesnt scale or resize when dragging the window. 😀
OK I can confirm that this does happens in Windows Ableton 10 for my ASPiK plugins only. Not in VSTHost though which behaves as Reaper does.
I guess this is SDK related but have 0 suggestions to fix it. I'm not too bothered by it though as the GUI returns to it's normal size once the window is shut and reopened.
