I've been trying to get MIDI events into RAFX from my USB connected MIDI Controllers.
So far the only way to get a MIDI event is with the RAFX software Piano, and with the MIDI In on my USB ASIO Audio Interface. Clicking the Re-scan MIDI Inputs doesn't seem to do anything - no output to the Status Window.
Am I doing something wrong, or can RAFX only recognize one MIDI In Port?
Thanks,
Rick
Hi Rick
Yep, the rescan midi button does work; it requests a list of all current MIDI inputs from the operating system, and displays them in the MIDI device drop-down list. The RAFX Piano Control generates MIDI events, but it is not part of the operating system's MIDI devices.Â
I have a MIDI input from my AudioBox USB adapter and another one from my Oxygen25 MIDI keyboard, which is plugged into a different USB port here:
So, RackAFX will only list the devices that the OS returns during it's MIDI device query. Each device is identified with a unique unsigned integer value, typically zero-indexed.Â
However, only one device can be used at a time for MIDI input. This is done through a driver call and there is only one asynchronous callback function for MIDI running at a time.
I haven't had any requests for running multiple MIDI input devices into RackAFX.

Hi Will,
Thanks, I see it now. I didn't realize that was a MIDI device drop-down, I always saw my USB Audio Interface listed there and thought it was showing the Audio I/O Device, not the MIDI Device. So, Stupid User Error -- Sorry to waste your time. Having multiple MIDI Devices would be nice. I often have as many as 5 different USB MIDI devices that I'm using at one time, some of them USB only (ie they don't have a 5-pin MIDI connector). But I'm sure I can find a work around.
I did however, find a feature/bug that's repeatable. It's not a big deal, just thought you'd might want to know since it may be due to the big changes you made recently. It happens when you have output coming from RAFX (you don't even need to have a plugin loaded), and then click the "Open and Load an Audio File" and then double-click a file. The output then starts looping on the last snippet of audio that was in the output buffer. It repeats about every 1.5ms for me. No big deal, no lockups or crashes, just thought you'd like to know.
START EDIT -- Just to be clear, for the above behavior RAFX needs to be actively outputting in "Sound Input Mode" or from the Oscillator and then you need to click directly on the "Open and Load an Audio File" and load an audio file without first entering "Wave File Mode". -- END EDIT
BTW, I'm loving learning to use the GUI Designer.
Thanks again, and sorry for wasting your time before,
Rick

Hi...I have one Nektar Impact LX61+ and a Roland FP-5, Logic recognizes the Roland and says it's a Midi controller but the Nektar doesn't show up, but it's not a problem because it works and I have installed it's drivers. The problem is, I can't figure out how to use them for different sounds. For example: today I used electric piano and organ, I needed the Roland for the piano and the Nektar for the organ. But whenever I used the piano, both the Roland and Nektar controlled the same instrument and the same happened with every patch I used, it's like Midi channels are non existent on USB.
