Version of RackAFX to follow along with the books

Good Evening,

I have been working through the beginning of both of Will's released books and I'm having some issues with the project structure having significantly changed from the architecture shown in them, especially the synth book.  Is there a good version of RackAFX and the VST3 SDK to follow along with to get the file structure described in the book, or is there a document somewhere that describes where the base classes are now declared and implemented?  Thanks a bunch!

Hi Jimmy

Yes, this is an unfortunate side effect of publishing books based on existing SDKs. The VST3 SDK has changed significantly and the last version of RackAFX still allows you to revive the old interface with sliders, specifically to match both the FX and synth plugin books. You can find it as the "classic" view in the View menu.

The 3.6.10 VST3 SDK is more problematic and the VST3 SDK changes substantially with each new release. At the time the synth book was published, VST3 required that you first pre-compile the base library, which is in the book. That has ALL changed massively starting with 3.6.9 and now you have to compile multiple base libraries. I have backups of most of the old VST3 SDKs. I think that the closest that matches the book is 3.6.5 - let me know which one you want and I'll dig it up. Steinberg immediately deletes old SDKs and hides them very fast after releasing new versions.

Thanks a bunch Will.  Think it might be too complicated to try and duplicate the RackAFX/VST3SDK/VisualStudio from the book.  I'll just try to work through the differences.  I've already pre-ordered the new book, so I'm excited about that, and I'll work through the issues on this.
