I'm very new at this. I'm not even sure if I can figure out how to upload a screenshot to this post, but here goes...
I'm following along with some Youtube videos, currently 'Write a Plug-In in RackAFX Part 3 of 4 ~ Watch in 720p ~', and my slider properties window doesn't have the MIDI control options. I have a device plugged in and see it transmitting values in the bottom right of the main window, and I have the latest version of RackAFX.
The MIDI Control Props were removed from RackAFX about 2 or 3 years ago. Your plugin will still receive MIDI (which is monitored in the lower right as you noticed) and of course you can decode it and use it to alter your GUI-linked variables, make a Synth plugin, etc... I've also had several users apply MIDI to things like filter cutoffs or delay times. The reason I removed the MIDI control mapping to RAFX sliders (or knobs with the Modern UI option) actually had to do with the MIDI CC changes made in the VST3 API. There was no easy/clean way to port the MIDI CC stuff to VST3 (or AU or AAX). Modern DAWs today all have some kind of MIDI CC mapping built-in and that is the cleanest way to do this kind of MID CC -> GUI variable control for the ported projects.
