RackAFX 126.96.36.199 is a quick update that fixes an issue with using imported graphics for animated knobs in the GUI Designer.Â
In RackAFX6.x, the user was required to manually tag imported graphics as "background" "knob" "slider" etc... when importing into the GUI Designer. This restriction was removed in RackAFX7 however some existing code remained, along with a somewhat confusing "Setup" dialog box. The previous release had a bug in which some graphics were still required to be tagged and this fixes that issue.
There is no change to any core files and no change to ASPiK so there is no need to update or recompile anything. This is just a fix for the GUI Designer.
For all new projects, the fxobjects.h file has been updated to the latest version. You can also manually update this file if needed - see the post here:
Having issues with the MIDI generator not producing MIDI events at all...RackAFX MIDI Piano Control does not trigger events in Win10 in the RACKAFX 7.xx series, like it did in the 6.xx series...Why would that be ??? I verify the Process Audio Loop, Runs Fine...So it is not a DLL attachment issue in MiniSynth...It runs the Audio Loop fine...The MIDI Processing events, However, do not run fine, when I press the notes on the MIDI keyboard...No note ON and note OFF events trigger and I am very surprised that works in version 6.X of RACKAFX but not in the latest more modern incarnations...I have a feeling MSOFT maybe rewired their MIDI functionality as of late or is it a compatibility issue ??? Cannot trigger a note in the software controller...Also RackAFX crashes in 6.X when one touches the sliders! Sad to see them break binary comparability like thatWhat may be the issue ? The Compiler I use is VS 2015...
The MiniSynth project from my synth plugin book does not work with RackAFX7 or ASPiK.
It only works with RackAFX6.Â
I just submitted a new synth book manuscript that completely reformats the synth projects and none of them are framework or RackAFX dependent.
The MIDI processing functions are specifically different in RackAFX7 to allow for block audio processing while being able to be sample accurate.Â
MIDI is working properly in RackAFX7 on Win8 and Win10 with VS2015, 2017 and 2019.
RackAFX has a built-in MIDI monitor on the lower left that shows all MIDI messages coming into it via the Windows MIDI driver. You can use it to verify your MIDI connections. It will give you specific note-on and note-off information as well as common CC names. For CC's without "ordinary" assignments, it gives you the CC number.Â
Here is the output for a note-on for middle C with velocity = 127:
Here it is showing CC#1 (mod wheel):
Here it is showing a random CC (25 in this case):
I have not tested RackAFX6 in Win10 in several years (it did work properly for the first version of Win10).
