Hello. Firstly, thanks for all your work/books/website, Will. Really great work 🙂
I'm looking forward to switching to RackAFX7 but have run into an issue. RackAFX6 ran fine on virtualbox (Mac) as long as the old graphical display was used. If the app was switched to the newer dial based GUI, performance was horrible. RackAFX7 only has the new dial based display, so it's currently unusable on my system via virtualbox.
Is this a known issue? I'm probably going to have to bootcamp instead, but would much prefer to virtualbox it if possible (new macbook pro 13 inch)
cheers

I would try VMware Fusion or Parallels first before having to switch startup drives to run bootcamp. Last time I used Parallels, prob 10 years ago now, it would sync with your bootcamp, which I thought was neat. More recently I've been using VMWare Fusion to run linux etc. So When I come to use RackAFX that is what I'll be trying first myself.Â
Hi Bruce
I have a couple of students using Virtual Box without an issue regarding graphics.
However, almost all of us use Parallels, which has no problems with RackAFX - it has been amazingly stable with both RackAFX and the MacOS ported projects (AU/VST/AAX) and we've not run into issues with slow graphics.Â
The only major issue we had with Virtual Box was the audio; depending on the version it could be glitchy or perfectly fine.Â
Only a couple of students use Bootcamp and this is usually because they have run out of room on their drives.Â
Hope that helps,
Will
