me again 😀
Is there any elegant way to change bitmaps (png) of knobs?
In RackAFX6 it was like this: Make a new png, kick it in the ressorce folder, build, done.
In RackAFX7 it is like this: Make a new png, store it somewhere (because I'm not able to replace the original file until closing RackAFX), delete the original file from the GUI-Designer, rebuild (!) the whole solution, add the new file to the GUI-Designer, rebuild(!) the whole solution again.
Sometimes deleting from the GUI-Designer doesn't work ...
I know - I could use different file names but in my case I have f.i. knobs that are underlayed with a VU-Meter (or LED) and have a little button in the center. And here I'm talking about 80 knobs = 240 images. To separate and realign them is something about 3 hours (stupid pixel moving) each time ...
So - is there any better solution?
Btw: when i set a knob to log and it hits 0 scary things are happening (NAN or inf or so) 😉
The knob graphics are now stored in the XML file. This removes the need to add the files to each compiler project as resources. The original location of the PNG file is irrelevant because the PNG data is encoded (captured) into the XML file. This has to be done using the PNG Import method, which uses VSTGUI4's encoder object to do that.
If you start with a blank project, and then add a PNG file to it, you can then inspect the XML file and see the PNG data.
