Before you jump into ASPiK projects make sure you can do the following:

AAX and VST3: these SDKs come with example plugin projects. You must be able to build and load these example projects into your DAW of choice to ensure you have the correct OS, compiler, and proper DAW hosting. For VST3, you need to use CMake to create the entire suite of sample projects and for AAX, you need to at least be able to get the Demo Gain example working. If you can't get the sample projects to compile, you won't be able to get the ASPiK projects to compile.

AU: the AU sample projects do not have the same folder footprint as the ASPiK projects (that is on purpose as the standard AU setup is really confusing) BUT you can still download the projects and compile them in Xcode, just keep the folder hierarchy you are given (the projects are already made for you). For FX projects, you should be able to compile and install the FilterDemo plugin project into Logic or Reaper.

If you are having problems with your first project, the first thing I am going to ask is "do you have the sample projects that came with your API's SDK compiling and running" -- if you don't then you should start there first.

Issue Reports: if you report a problem, stating that "I did all the stuff but my build failed" is useless. You need to list the OS version, API you are using (AAX, AU or VST3), ASPiK version you are using, Xcode or Visual Studio version you are using, and a complete description of the problem; if the build fails, you need to show the failure messages or dump the log window.

The Forum Here: for about 85% of the questions and issues I get, the answers are already here at the Forum (that includes RackAFX7 as well). Before you make a long post, you should check the Forum.

Also, if you are new to this stuff, note that all the information about setting up your folders, SDKs, etc... and much much more, is contained in my book Designing Audio Effects Plugins in C++ 2nd Edition, which also includes "Programming Guide" chapters for each API.
