If I wanted to use a program like ltspice to simulate a guitar amp or some pedal, what is the way to use this software? I've also read around that you usually generate the netlist of the circuit and then report this in c++ code. But in what sense? How do you translate a netlist into c++ code that simulates amp or pedal circuits etc.?

You need to add a SPICE engine. Ngspice has many users and integrates with C++.

The engine will process the SPICE list, but you will need to integrate it into the framework you are using.
