Hi was wondering if new version of RackAFX will have any option for exporting to a IOS project?
If not what are options for IOS for Audio apps do I need to write in Objective C or Swift ? Any advise re app dev for IOS would be handy.
Also any updates as to when we will be able to buy the new books etc?
On another note I got a couple of my plug-ins to compile to AU plug ins lately, does anyone know how to get a plug in code from Apple? At moment im just using a code I made up 🙂 ha ha
Hi Mark (Eddie)
I had a grad student who was doing an iOS port from RackAFX but it was only for AUv3 and not as a complete App. I have done a ton of iOS audio-app work (and taught the class for it here at the University for 5 years) but all of my stuff is Obj C. That student graduated but I may be able to get someone from the new iOS class (now taught by one of my colleagues) to do an AUv3 port. They released a "bridge" to help with AU2 -> Auv3. That will have to wait on the back burner while I get the latest software out.
I just released what I think is the last of the "old" RackAFX (6.9.x) and I am planning on releasing RackAFX7 and ASPiK at the same time (they are technically different products) in about 2 weeks, just before the AES convention in New York. So keep an eye out for that.
I am not sure that Apple is enforcing the plugin code requirement any more, but I have not checked back with them lately.
