Hello everyone, I am following the ASPiK documentation to write my first plugin. Specifically the Volume plugin from the section Write a plugin.

My question is in the section Processing the Audio Data> Audio Input and Output Samples. Here it says that we have to modify the code of the processAudioFrame function in plugincore.cpp file. I don't understand what part of the initial code I should remove to add the new code indicated in the ASPiK documentation, I don't know if I should delete from line 172 to 215 and add the documentation code.

If someone can guide me a bit about this, I'm starting with ASPiK and I'm finding it a bit difficult to understand the whole process (I'm not a regular C++ user), thank you all and have a nice day.

Hi David,

It might be best to build the DemoVolumePlugin project that comes in the Samples folder with ASPiK, then you can follow how it is done from there.

Line 229 - double xn_L = processFrameInfo.audioInputFrame[0];

is the first place that anything happens to the audio. I.e it's taken from the left Input buffer and stored in variable xn_l for you to modify there.

The way the stereo is set up on the project may be a little confusing. The code for the right channel is duplicated in the if(...kCFStereo) section. The DemoCustomViews projects look a bit neater if you want to try learning from them.

Cheers
