i can't seem to get it to work .

i create a new dummy project to test it out and the compiler gets this error with a lot of simmilar errors

It looks like you are talking about RackAFX here and not VST3 (you mentioned "i build the vst libraries and the sample projects like the tutorial").

Well, first you install VSTGUI4 from the Utilities menu in RackAFX. Target the same directory where you keep your projects. This puts the vstgui4 directory in parallel with the top level folder for each project. This will add all the VSTGUI4 stuff you need. This takes the place of the ancient, bloated (and probably illegal with the new VST licensing) "Sock2VST3.lib" mechanism in the old RAFX. From your post, it sounds like you may have done this, but perhaps not in the proper Projects folder?

For FFTW, that is a different issue. See the documentation here:

https://www.willpirkle.com/support/fftw/

This will show you how to add FFTW files so that future RackAFX7 projects can use them when you setup the project and choose "Link to FFTW" -- for a simple dummy project, you should not select that when creating a project.

When you created your dummy project, you should get a fxobjects.h file that includes FFTW objects, which are enabled by a #define switch. The compiler switch is HAVE_FFTW

Does your fxobjects.h file include the statement?

#define HAVE_FFTW

If it does then you must have selected Link to FFTW when setting up the project. If you did not choose this, let me know but you can just delete this #define line if needed.

We are currently using RackAFX7 in my Synth Plugins class this semester. We are all using the current version with VSTGUI4 installed as per the Utilities menu and we are all running without issues. Note that this has nothing to do with VST3 exporting, which is another issue. But from your paths that you describe, it sounds like you are talking about RAFX and not VST3.
