This has happened to me under the following situation:
1. Install VS2013 Express and use it with RackAFX
2. Install VS2013 Professional Dev Studio and use it with RackAFX
3. in RackAFX, set the compiler *back* to VS2013 Express and try to re-open projects, create new projects, etc.. -- then you get this error:
Exception of type 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Dialogs.DialogInitializationException'
This is documented all over the internet and is a Microsoft issue, not a RackAFX problem. The solution which worked for me here was to follow the answer here:
http://stackoverflow.com/quest.....ew-project
but use C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\Common7\IDE"
since 12.0 is the VS2013 version. Also, run:
WDExpress.exe /resetuserdata
instead of devenv.exe. After I did this, the next start of VS2013 Express took a long time as it rebuilt its caches. But worked without a problem. And, I can switch back and forth between VS2013 Express and Professional without issues.
