On the very first page of Chapter 9 it mentions that an oscillator (of our interest) requires (amongst other features):

Quadrature Phase outputs

 

Can anyone supply a brief explanation to this topic? I couldn't get it out from Wikipedia or the web.

Quadrature Phase means "90 degrees out of phase" and several interesting stereo algorithms use a LFO with a normal and 90 degrees out of phase output, each feeding the modulator for one channel, left or right.
