I am actually planning on a 2nd edition of the Synth book which will act more of a "Part 2" to the new FX book release. The print cycle is slow, so that isn't going to happen instantaneously. The Synth book has only synth objects, and there is a bit of overlap - the 2nd Ed FX book contains a few of the virtual analog filters that the Synth book demonstrates. But, there are no other FX-type of objects, except for a delay module that is identical to one in the new book. Another issue is that the Synth book projects do not use a unified GUI designer across the APIs (I had not yet invented ASPiK) so I am looking forward to updating it.
Hope that helps,
