Enabling VST2 in the VST3 SDK

Why do I need to enable VST2?

By default, the VST2 portion of the VST SDK is disabled. You need to manually enable it so that your VST exported projects will create both VST2 and VST3 plugins at the same time. There are still some popular DAWs that do not support VST3 so VST2 support is necessary.

For Windows:

Open the command prompt and navigate to the VST3_SDK folder that contains copy_vst2_to_vst3_sdk.bat, then, double-click on the copy_vst2_to_vst3_sdk.bat file to run the copy mechanism.

For MacOS:

Open a Terminal window and navigate to the VST3_SDK folder that contains the copy_vst2_to_vst3_sdk.sh file. Drag and drop the copy_vst2_to_vst3_sdk.sh file into Terminal. This will run the copy mechanism.
