When you use Make VST to port your RackAFX project and you open XCode to build the VST2 and VST3 versions, you may get a warning for the projects that say "Validate Project Settings" and "Update to recommended settings" (at the top on the left pane, where the base and plugin projects reside).
When you click on the warning, it will prompt you to "fix" some stuff that may now be outdated (this depends on your version of XCode as well as your target OS setting).
Applying these fixes will have one consequence that you will need to address. After applying the fixes, your project will not compile - you will get a plethora of errors from the VSTGUI Mac-specific files regarding "objc_msgSendSuper" (these files are all suffixed with .mm). When you performed the "fix" a compiler setting was changed that you will need to change back.
In your XCode Build Settings, search for "Enable Strict Checking" and you will find the compiler setting that needs to be changed. It is for:
Enable Strict Checking of objc_msgSend Calls = Yes
and this needs to be reset back to "No" in order for the VSTGUI4 Mac-specific code to compile properly.
After making that adjustment, you will be good to go.
