just to see one of my "own" plugins (just used the very first example of Will's book, the volume slider) work i compiled it and put the resulting DLL into cubases plugin folder. it showed up within cubase but when i load it cubase instantly crashes. (giving no error message)

considered that cubase 5.1 is maybe too old and using a slightly different protocol? im using rackafx and didnt add anything else to the volume slider example (it works no problem in rackafx). would appreciate any help 🙂

thank you!

I am not experiencing any crashes, but I have not used Cubase 5 in many years.

I am currently testing with Cubase 7 and Cubase 8 Elements (you can get a free 30 day trial of CB8 Elements at the Steinberg website).

Many of my book readers, as well as I, use Reaper extensively for testing. It is FREE and works very well as VST2 and VST3 clients in 32 and 64 bit modes.
