I've bought both wonderful books of Will Pirkle about audio effects and synthesizer plugins.
Now I want to program anything. I'm programming Delphi but I know also some C++.
What recent development frameworks are good?
You're writing about Visual C++ 2008 and 2012. But I don't want to install dozens of versions. Is Visual Studio 2015 community edition also O.K.?

Yes, RackAFX does work with Win10 and VS2015 Community. I am in the process of adding VS2015 Community support in the current Beta version, but the easy work-around is to set the compiler to VS2013 Pro/Community in View->Preferences. If you have VS2015 Community installed, it will launch and control VS2015 instead. Make sure VS2013 is NOT installed for this workaround to be effective.
The currently supported platforms are: WinXP, Win Vista, Win7, Win8, Win10
The supported Visual Studio Compilers are:
The next Beta will add support for:
So, you can use the workaround above to work with VS2015 right now.
One of my former students now works on audio API stuff at Microsoft (for OS development). He confirmed that RackAFX does work on Win10 (make sure to install BOTH Win32 and x64 "Redistributables" that are on the RackAFX Download page).

I'd love try this beta-- I've invested much time into trying to learn VS 2015; but still a novice at VS.... so many buttons and "modern" C++ on top of that!.
Love your Designing Audio Effects book; the best audio DSP book EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Please give my best regards to Ken Polman- Sadly I am in stage 4 cancer and basically bedridden- the Ox feed is incompatible with hot energized hardware on the bench, so I must trade in the soldering irons for keyboards now.
I'm available to help students- 40+ years of analog hardware design to share here.
