Some students and book readers need to work on their C++ skills. You really need to understand things like pointers, arrays, abstract base classes, derived classes, etc...

There are several resources online:

http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/

http://www.dreamincode.net/for.....5-c-and-c/

http://www.cprogramming.com/c+.....ok/?inl=hl

I've found this step by step tutorial fairly colloquial and useful also:

Muirscape - that is AWESOME! If you are interested in my book but are light on C++ knowledge this is a great site - like taking a C++ class at your own pace. Very nice.

If you are motivated to get into c++ coding but you are demotivated by the wall of text of the intro as on http://www.learncpp.com I have a tip for you: go to http://www.spritzlet.com and create a bookmark as requested on the site. Return to http://www.learncpp.com and click that bookmark. Have fun speedreading the introduction and get to the important stuff!
