You are using Windows7 and VS2012 Express and you get this message. This has nothing to do with RackAFX.

A recent (uncontrollable, automatic) update to Win7 changed the .NET framework and broke VS2012. From Microsoft:

"This update also resolves a compatibility issue that may occur when the Microsoft .NET Framework is updated. When this issue occurs, Visual Studio 2012 may not load projects and may crash."

This is available at:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2781514

I tried this patch but it did not work. Also, this issue is not in VS2012 Professional, only the Express version. If any one has success with this patch, or knows of another update, please let me know,

If you want to get back up and running now, the easiest thing is to install VS2010 Express. You can download it directly here:

http://download.microsoft.com/.....press1.iso

In the meantime, we will just have to wait for Microsoft to fix the current problem.

Good news! I found out how to fix the problem with VS2012.

VS2012Express:
Navigate to the folder:

\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WDExpress\11.0

and delete the folder inside named ComponentModelCache

VS2012 Professional
Navigate to the folder:

\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\VisualStudio\11.0

and delete the folder inside named ComponentModelCache

When you run VS for the first time after this it will take some time during startup to rebuild the cache. After that, it's now working properly.
